We had some delays this morning. We had to wait 30 minutes for the bridge to open. Right before brown’s inlet the military shut down the icw for their firing practice or something. We had to drop the anchor in the middle of the channel with a bunch of boats and wait over an hour. Tom had to pull the anchor up twice today.
Once the military opened the ICW again Tom pulled the anchor up. It was so tricky staying in the channel and maneuvering around 60 foot yachts and other sail boats. I was worried I was going to run aground or hit someone. I was able to pull it off.
The Bogue sound was very choppy today with 20-30 mph winds and 3-6 foot waves. We cruised along passed Morehead City and Beaufort. We went passed Oriental as well. We were unable to get into a marina today so we went a couple miles up the Neuse River and found a lovely anchorage. My only complaint is very bad cellphone service on my phone. Tom’s phone is working just fine. We were greeted by 10-12 dolphins. It was so cool. There was also some military helicopters above us.

We averaged 7-9 knots and traveled 70 miles. I am cooking clam chowder for dinner and we plan on getting to Tuckahoe point tomorrow.

Bring it on home honey!
