Woke up at 7:15. We were supposed to meet Bill at the marina at 8 am. When we tried to pull the anchor up there was a really bad snag. It took us over an hour to get the anchor up. It was stuck on some old rode from someone’s anchor.
We dropped Bill’s kayak off. I felt bad he had to wait. He was kind enough to bring us breakfast. It made my day. It was really good to see him and we wish we could’ve stayed longer. Were were underway at 9:30 am.
When we got to the Wrightsville beach bridge we tied up at the dockside marina dock and dine. Holding for that bridge is a pain and we didn’t want to deal with it, we had to wait an hour. I’ve never docked a boat by myself before, I’m used to always having someone to catch my lines. I quickly jumped off with a spring line and then tied the bow up. The current was moving really quickly. I scraped my hands a little bit, but not bad. It took a minute to pull the stern in, but I felt super strong once I wrangled in the 46,000 pound beast.
Our friends we made at Osprey Marina caught up to us and noticed us docked at the dock and dine. It was good to see them again. Tom pushed the boat off the dock once the bridge opened and I floored it.
We had to hold for a second bridge 5 miles down the road for about 30 minutes. It wasn’t bad. This was where Tom lost the dinghy last time.

The water was so pretty and blue today. We saw a ton of dolphins. It was a good day and despite the delay this morning we still managed to do 50 miles. We averaged around 7-9 knots.

We pulled into Mile Hammock Bay at 6 pm and dropped the anchor. There’s about 14 boats anchored here. We are on a military base. It’s a good anchorage with deep water. We didn’t get as far as we hoped today, but we still did great considering the bridges and the snag. We are planning on staying at a marina in Oriental tomorrow.

Another solid day! Keep up the good work guy’s!!! We miss you at home.
