We woke up at 6:45 am and pulled the anchor up. We averaged around 6-7 knots today and went about 55 miles. We got into our anchorage at 4:30 pm. We wanted to go until sunset, but the bridge going into Charleston won’t open up at all from 3-7pm. We were frustrated, but made the most out of it.
We had one hell of a time anchoring with the current and 15 mph winds. Our anchorage was crowded with sailboats. When we dropped the hook the first time and weren’t far enough off out of the channel, my fault. Tom had the hardest time pulling up the anchor, even with the windlass. Poor guy. He’s so exhausted after that.
Once the boat was free I threw down the throttle because the current was quickly pushing us into another boat. The lady on the boat got all wide eyed and looked nervous. I was like “OH CRAP CRAP CRAP!!”. I was thankfully able to avoid any collision, but that was an adrenaline rush. It scared me and that lady on the other boat. Tom said he wasn’t worried about it at all.
We had a nice evening. I cooked clam linguini for dinner. We are planning on going 60-70 miles tomorrow. I didn’t take pictures today, I was at the helm the majority of the day. I was able to get a shot of the sunset though.

Bring it on home Honey!

Hi Candi and Tom
I was wondering when the clam linguine was going to be served😉. My fingers are crossed that you will continue on without any more problems. I’ll breathe a sigh of relief when I look out and that boat at the dock.
