Tom and Bob got up early and pulled the anchor up at 7:15. They headed to the draw bridge. There was one boat at bridge, our boat and another lining up. Bob is at the helm and loses steering. Now the fun begins!!! They had to get out of the channel and not get stuck. They were drifting and used forward and reverse to try to control the boat. It took them 2 hours to fix the steering and were underway again.

They got lost and almost ended up going out to sea at one of the inlets. Bob said it was crazy.

They arrived at their anchorage at 6:30 pm. Bob fell over board while he was dropping the anchor. Thankfully he got ahold of the anchor rope! He drank some sea water and screamed like a little girl according to Tom.

Bob held onto the anchor line until Tom got him a life jacket. Bob continued to scream like a little girl. Tom got a line around Bob and were unsuccessful getting him on the ladder. Bob tried four times and his knees were bloodied. Tom tried to use the winch to pull Bob up, but it just wasn’t happening. It was ripping his arms off and gave him rope burn.

Tom called the Coast Guard for help and they said it wasn’t their problem. He then called towboat US and they said it’s not their problem. They called the police. Daytona police showed up over an hour later. Bob had to stay in the choppy, cold water until the cops could rescue him. Poor Bob got hit by a wave runner twice by the police officer driving and Tom was livid. He freaked out.

Bob lost his brand new boat shoes when he was treading water and kicking. Tom and the officer was able to finally get Bob on the boat. He was in the water for well over an hour. They are both so exhausted that they are skipping dinner and enjoying cocktails instead. Bob is lucky he is okay.
