New Smyrna to Addison Point Anchorage

Woke up this morning and we were stuck on the ground. I was livid because my NOAA charts on my phone and Tom’s iPad said we dropped the anchor in 12 feet of water at mean low water. It’s normally extremely accurate, but not this time.

Tom said the boat keeled over again on its side last night, not as severe as last time back in South Carolina. Tom kept falling out of bed so it must have still been pretty bad. I had no idea. I was completely passed out. Apparently it happened at like 2:30 am. Tom says there was another boat on its side as well and the guy was looking around with a flashlight concerned. I’m glad I didn’t know because I would have freaked out. I was fast asleep.

We had to wait for two hours for the tide to rise. Once it did we got the heck out of there. It was bitter cold this morning. It was 32 degrees when we got up. I was freezing once I got out of bed. The wind blew hard all day and wasn’t very pleasant. It was so cold it felt like I was back in Utah.

We went through mosquito lagoon today. It was pretty.

We had to stop for fuel in Titusville and that was an adventure. The wind was blowing so hard and it was really hard getting out of there. The wind kept pushing us into the dock.

We had to hold for a bridge for an hour and a half during rush hour. I thought I was going to be sick. Tom had to keep going in circles while we waited for the bridge to open. The wind and current were so bad and there were waves. I was getting dizzy.

We finally got through the bridge and to our anchorage at sunset. We only did around 42ish miles today, but with all the delays I feel like that’s pretty good! We have a view of the NASA launch pad from our anchorage.

We enjoyed the sunset and enjoyed leftover linguini for dinner.

Would be great if there is a launch coming up soon, even if you get to Vero, would be spectacular. At least the boat is working and hope the weather warms up soon for you.

I would love to see a launch! I’ve always wanted to. Hopefully maybe we will get lucky and get to see one on the way down. Absolutely. I’m very happy about that hahaha. Thanks Uncle Rick.
