Stranded at anchor

We didn’t finish the steering cables until 4 pm today. Tom worked hard at it all day. I got a little motion sickness today and started feeling weak. The ICW was very busy and boats were throwing huge wakes into our anchorage. It isn’t protected by wind or wake. I started to develop a migraine and had to lay down.

I took some medicine and it took a couple hours to start feeling normal. I texted with my grandparents, sister Summer and Rich. They all were making me feel better. My grandparents are so kind and wise. I love them and they are some of the smartest most wonderful people I know. My sister wants me to teach her Japanese and I was so excited that she’s interested in learning. Rich always makes me laugh and lifts my spirits up when I’m down.

Once I started feeling better I cooked dinner. I made Tuna fish sandwiches and vegetable soup. We won’t know if the steering works until tomorrow morning, but Tom is hopeful that this new method he tried is going to work. I’m crossing my fingers. If the steering is still not working we will be towed to a boat yard for repairs and most likely return to Kilmarnock.

We will see what happens tomorrow, but we are both ready to get out of this anchorage. We are leaving this anchorage tomorrow regardless. Hoping for the best and praying. One thing Tom and I know is this has been one hell of an adventure.
