Mechanical issues

I apologize for not posting yesterday. I was too drained and didn’t have the energy to write. We’ve tried leaving the anchorage a couple times and each time the steering hasn’t worked correctly. We’ve both gotten a little discouraged a couple times, but trying to remain positive.

Tom hit a wreck when we tried leaving the anchorage today because we lost steering. I screamed and Tom calmly said “Don’t panic”. We were able to get around it with no steering and anchor again. This is a picture of the wreck we hit. A bunch of cormorants were hanging out on it and flew away in terror when we hit.

We are trying something different with the cables today and if that doesn’t work we are going to have Towboat Us give us a tow to the closest marina to get some work done. Most likely to St Augustine. We are really hoping this last try makes a difference. We are only a few days away from Vero beach. We are so close. Hoping for the best.

I miss Rich and all the dogs. They’ve been having a good time in Kilmarnock. I love talking to all of them on FaceTime. I can’t wait to see all of them again.

Awful luck and hope it changes soon for you guys. Pasly looks happy and content back on Dividing Creek, a pup, not a sailor!! Better luck tomorrow.

Hopefully it starts getting better. We are both ready to get down to Vero Beach. She’s been so happy back home at camp Kilmarnock. She’s been running around a lot with Juneau and having a blast. I miss her a lot, but I think she’s happy to not have to use the restroom on the bow. Haha Thanks Uncle Rick! I’m hoping for the best.
