Matanzas river anchorage

There were thunderstorms this morning with heavy wind and 35-55 knot gusts. We rode it out at the anchorage. A sailboat that was anchored with all the wrecks/derelicts last night pulled up and anchored next to us. One of the masts on a derelict fell down and there were a couple that kept drifting into each other. I’m wondering if that’s why they decided to move to a better spot.

We finished fixing the steering and decided it be best to stay at this anchorage for another night. There was strong wind and gusts all day after the thunderstorm passed through. We have to hold for multiple bascule bridges and the wind would make it even more tricky.

Tom got a ton of work done today. We are going to stay at the Halifax River Yacht Club tomorrow. We had left over linguini and smoked oysters with crackers for dinner.

Hope the storms, any lingering winds, move out and provide excellent weather for tuesday. If those pesky bridges cooperate, you should have a super day. Good luck my mates.
