We accidentally overslept this morning until about 7:30 am. I had a really rough night last night. I was having nightmares that the anchor was dragging and that people were yelling at us. It was a frightening dream and I kept thinking it was real. I sat up in the cockpit and watched the anchor until I couldn’t handle getting attacked by mosquitoes anymore. I would go up and check the anchor every couple of hours to make sure we weren’t moving.
We left the anchorage around 8 am. I was at the helm for an hour or so and started feeling extremely nauseated. I haven’t gotten sea sick so far on this trip, but this is the closest I’ve come. I’m not 100% sure I was even sea sick, it very well could have been lack of sleep. I ran down to my cabin and took some anti nausea medication. I ate a half a pack of saltine crackers and wrapped myself up in my warm fleece blanket.
When I started feeling a little better I flipped through my NOAA charts and noticed we were headed out to sea. I told Tom and he said that was impossible. Hahaha! He said his GPS was showing him on the ICW. I showed him on the map where we were supposed to turn into this little canal to take us from the bay back onto the ICW. He turned the boat around and we got back on course. It took us about an hour to get onto the ICW
I was slowly feeling better and better. It was a beautiful day. It was colder than most of the days so far, but it was nice and sunny. The current was working in our favor. We were going around 11 knots. We didn’t have enough daylight to get to isle of palms as we had originally hoped. It had us getting in at 6:30 pm. We traveled 45 miles today.
We stopped at around 3:00 and found a nice anchorage. We were the only boat for hours. We saw a lot of blue herons and snowy egrets catching fish at the low tide. I tried to zoom in to get a good picture of them, but they were too far away. There was a beautiful cotton candy sunset this evening. One of the prettiest I’ve seen on the trip so far.

I made chicken noodle soup and tuna sandwiches for dinner. I planned our trip for tomorrow and our goal is to do 60 miles. I am hoping we make it to mile marker 495.

I Love the blog and pictures. What an amazing Sunset and Adventure!
