Thieves!!

Well we woke up thinking we got robbed. Last night I thought Tom was having a midnight snack. I heard someone eating in the galley, munching away. I thought nothing of it and went back to bed. Paisley didn’t bark either so I figured it was nothing.

There were a bunch of cheesy cracker packets all over the deck of the boat. I was absolutely livid thinking some savage moronic teenager was sneaking into our boat to steal crackers. Next thing I notice is my wallet was missing. Now I was adamant someone had come in and robbed us of my wallet and crackers.

I walked down to the ship store to let them know I’ve been robbed. I was in tears and had a long walk to get to the ship store. Rich FaceTimed me and I screamed as loud as I could saying “SOMEONE STOLE MY FREAKING WALLET!!” I didn’t care who heard me. I was very upset.

Once I was in the ship store I asked if they had security cameras. They said they did, but not on the dock we were at. I let them know that someone stole my wallet and food from the boat. There wasn’t really anything they could do to help me. I was fully prepared to call the police and file a report for my missing wallet.

I went back to the boat and started crying. I was on hold with one of my credit card companies to start cancelling all of my cards. I started searching for my wallet some more. I found it on the ground in the galley. I felt so stupid. It’s always in my bag. After that big fiasco we pulled into the fuel dock.

The guys working said that the creatures that stole our food were raccoons. They said they jump on people’s boats all the time and steal things. I always leave the galley door open to get fresh air, but I’m not doing that anymore. Tom and I had a good laugh about it. I let them know I found my wallet. I still feel extremely stupid.

We pulled out of the marina and continued on the ICW. It got nasty and was raining and blowing really hard. The weather was supposed to be nice and sunny today. Tom wanted to stop around 3 so we pulled into an Anchorage close to Georgetown. We didn’t go very far, but blame it on the raccoons. I am adamant they moved my wallet. Rich and Tom think I’m crazy. We got a late start and don’t want to sail at night.

We relaxed for awhile. It was very pretty and peaceful.

We started getting bitten by mosquitoes and retreated into the galley. There were about 50 in here too and it took forever getting rid of all of them. There’s still a bunch in here. I heated up our leftovers from last night in the oven. They tasted just as good as the night before.

We are planning on traveling to Isle of Palms tomorrow.
