An adventurous day

Tom and I probably got an hour of sleep each last night. When the tide dropped the boat was fully on its side and you could see the mud. I wish I would have jumped down and taken a picture. Tom kept falling out of his bed so he slept in the cockpit on the starboard side. Paisley and I literally slept on the wall in my room. It was a crazy feeling.

It was high tide at 4 am and the boat balanced out again. We woke up at 6 am and tried getting off the ground, but we were firmly stuck. Tom said we could wait until the tide rises and I told him I didn’t want to wait until 4 pm to get out. Tom called towboat us and the guy rushed there in 15 minutes. He knew the tide was starting to fall again.

We were very lucky to get out of there before being keeled over again. I was kind of grouchy today. I don’t do very well when I don’t get my sleep. Poor Tom! I apologized for freaking out, thankfully he’s very forgiving. It’s been raining off and on today. We had to go through a lot of swing bridges and bascule bridges today.

We were both exhausted and wanted to stop at 1 pm and I started calling Marinas. They were all completely booked again except one. They were the last ones I called and I was so happy that they had a spot.

We had to wait for a bridge to be repaired for about an hour, before they would open it. We were both irritated and annoyed. I wanted to yell at the bridge keeper on our radio to hurry up, but I kept my mouth shut. There were about 10 boats waiting and one of them did say something.

We were so happy when we docked at the Osprey Marina. It was a little difficult getting direction on where to go, but we finally got some direction when I called them on my cell. They are sweet and gave us a goody bag when we checked in at their ship store. We took Paisley for a walk, she was so excited and ran full speed.

I cooked hot dogs for dinner, I made Paisley her own because she’s such a good girl. We like the marina a lot so far. We are going to stay here for two nights. I’m so grateful because tomorrow is when it’s supposed to storm the worst with 25 mph storms.

Sorry I didn’t take many pictures today.
