Tom woke up at 6 am to finish installing the pump. Paisley was barking nonstop and wouldn’t stop so I got up too. We still couldn’t get the engine to fire up. I asked Tom if we was okay and he said he was not. I felt really bad. He was trying so hard. There was something wrong with the filter now.
I called around to different stores close by to see if they had the filter we needed. The only places that had them in stock were at least a 20-30 minute Uber drive away. Tom’s neighbor, Bob, drove down from Kilmarnock to save the day. His wife Dawn and Dog Hank also came with him.
Bob started helping Tom with the engine. I went to my room to do my weekly virtual singing lesson with my amazing friend Debra. About 15 minutes passed by and I heard the engine roar up. I was so happy. I heard them test the engine again and it started up again. I felt a big weight off my chest lift.
We took Bob and Dawn out to dinner! We cannot thank them enough for their help and kindness. We went to the village inn. I had a patty melt, it was good. Tom had fish and chips and hated it. 😂 I got asked for my ID by the waitress when I recommended a drink to Tom, even though I don’t drink anymore. I’m almost a decade over the legal limit and probably about 10 years older than our server. I was still flattered she thought I was that young.
Bob and Dawn took us back to the Marina. It was so good to see them. I am so grateful for their help. I was starting to get really stressed and frustrated being stuck at the Marina for a week broken down. Things are starting to look up and I really hope we have it easier the rest of the trip. We leave tomorrow at 6:30 am.
